AMS Inspection RoundsIt Help Customers Automate The Process of Reporting Equipment Security And Performance Issues.
Emerson has introduced a new application for AMS Trex device communicators: AMS Inspection Rounds. It helps operations teams more easily identify, report and respond to anomalies that pose a risk to plant reliability, safety and performance. The new application helps operators accurately record field data and automatically transmit it to other equipment systems so that operational decision makers can take effective action.
Most factories rely on manual inspections to detect equipment anomalies that are not recognized by sensors. Inspectors can use AMS Inspection Rounds (AMS Inspection App) to instantly and electronically record abnormal or hazardous conditions, including abnormal equipment noise, leaks, odors, excessive corrosion, and safety hazards. This data can be entered in real time into the powerful AMS Trex handheld communicator - time-stamped to meet compliance and audit requirements.
The AMS Inspection Rounds (AMS Inspection App) of the AMS Trex Equipment Communicator (pictured) help operators accurately capture on-site data during inspections and automatically transmit the data to other plant systems so that operational decision makers can access critical information.
AMS Inspection Rounds (AMS Inspection App) can transmit field data to other equipment systems via wired or secure WiFi connections without manual data entry. It can also help field operations and maintenance personnel automate workflows while ensuring the integrity, uniformity and repeatability of field data.
Mani Janardhanan, vice president of product management for Plantweb and Reliability Solutions, Emerson Automation Solutions, said: "Path checks are a key line of defense in identifying anomalies and unsafe conditions that reduce efficiency or put people at risk. AMS Inspection Rounds (AMS App) detect, report and resolve issues that affect plant safety and reliability in advance."
With a clear interface of routes, status, alerts, and action items, users can more quickly identify problems and schedule and coordinate their resolution. Electronic recording of routed data saves significant time compared to transcriming paper notes into electronic media and simplifies the process of generating audit trail records, allowing plant personnel to focus on more important tasks. Operations and maintenance teams can access historical data to identify and eliminate the root causes of repetitive problems.
